“REACHING OUT TO TOMORROW’S STARS”

DayStar Dance Academy is truly reaching out to tomorrow’s stars in a caring, loving, and disciplined environment. We have something to offer everyone, from ages 3 months to adults, starting with our parent/child musikgarten classes, which we believe is a catalyst to all other learning in dance. Music making is active and joyful. Psychological studies tell us that positive motivation for a child in a pleasant environment is the primary motivation for learning. Moving to music, playing instruments, and listening to music are naturally joyful experiences for children as well as adults.

Children that dance are better-focused listeners, perform better in school, and they are taught to work together as a group. Dance classes also help young children, especially teens, to have goals and a better self-esteem, as well as a sense of belonging and accomplishment. There is a quote that I hope all my young adults will one day understand: "Excellence is not a gift given, but a skill perfected." We believe that when children work hard they will see the fruits of their labor which will encourage them to not give up and quit when things get tough, but to see themselves accomplishing the goals they set out to achieve.
